MerchantCheckpointBot

Merchant Checkpoint runs a crawler called MerchantCheckpointBot. It checks public store pages for Google Merchant Center policy risks. The product name is Merchant Checkpoint. MerchantCheckpointBot is only the crawler's user agent token.

What it reads

The public home page, policy and contact pages linked from it, the sitemap if there is one, and a few product pages. It reads robots.txt and stays out of paths that file disallows.

Public pages only

It does not log in, does not fill forms, and does not read a Merchant Center account or a product feed.

Rate

It waits at least 1.5 seconds between requests to the same site and stops after 26 requests. A scan of one store takes about one minute.

How to opt a site out

Email hello@merchantcheckpoint.com with your domain and the word stop. We will stop fetching that site. We identify as MerchantCheckpointBot. A robots.txt Disallow for MerchantCheckpointBot is honoured. A Disallow for the older token GMCScanBot is honoured too.
